The master set counts each of its 27 cards once, in any card. It leaves out 27 First Edition Holofoil.

Legendary Shine Collection, released in 2015, presents legendary and mythical Pokémon in a compact, highly decorative collection built around Hoopa and the film-era gathering of powerful Pokémon. The artwork favours dramatic encounters, bright foil treatments, and full-card scenes over a conventional competitive theme. As a concept pack, it favours a concentrated visual or narrative idea over the breadth of a standard expansion.

Hoopa, Reshiram, Zekrom, Latios, Latias, and other legendary favourites make the small checklist feel unusually concentrated. The mix of dramatic transformations and bright full-card artwork gives the set an unmistakable mid-2010s identity. The expansion therefore works well as a self-contained binder project as well as a chapter in the wider history of the game. Many of its cards were later incorporated into the English BREAKthrough expansion, where they were mixed with the much larger Blue Shock and Red Flash card pools.
