The master set counts each of its 65 cards once, in any card. It leaves out 45 First Edition, 45 Unlimited, 20 First Edition Holofoil and 20 Unlimited Holofoil.

Blue Shock introduces the BREAK mechanic with a blue-themed focus on Mega Mewtwo X, physical power, and Pokémon that evolve beyond their usual final stage. The sideways gold BREAK cards give the release an immediately recognisable visual feature.

MoreLess

Mega Mewtwo X-EX and the first group of Pokémon BREAK provide the strongest collector targets, supported by full-art Pokémon-EX and Trainers. It represents the final stage of the XY design before the game moved to Pokémon-GX. Viewed as a complete checklist, it balances headline cards with supporting Pokémon and artwork that reinforce its central identity. The result reads coherently in a binder, with recurring subjects and visual ideas linking everyday cards to the rarer highlights. Blue Shock was combined with Red Flash and selected cards from Legendary Shine Collection to create the English BREAKthrough expansion.
