Privacy Policy
What Binderguild stores about you, and what it does not. Last updated 11 September 2026.
This is a first draft. It describes how the site actually works today, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer and it will change. Nothing here is legal advice.
What this page covers
This page describes what happens when you browse Binderguild. It will be rewritten as the site grows.
What we collect when you browse
We do not ask you to identify yourself and we keep no record of your visit under a name or an identifier of our own. Our host keeps ordinary server logs — the address a request came from, what it asked for, and when — which are used to keep the site running and to investigate abuse.
Our host also counts visits for us, so that we can see which cards and sets people look for. It tells us that a page was opened two hundred times; it does not tell us who opened it, it puts nothing in your browser, and there is nothing in it that could be traced back to you. See “Others who handle it” below.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent anything about you, and we do not share it for marketing.
- We do not try to work out who you are, and nothing described here is kept under your name.
Advertising
We carry advertising from Google, and Google’s advertising code runs on these pages. It can set its own cookies in your browser and it receives your visit, including your address and the page you are on. Google is a separate company and uses what it collects for its own purposes as well as ours, which is what makes advertising different from the rest of this page: it is the one thing here that is not simply about counting visits to Binderguild.
Your options for advertising are Google’s rather than ours, and you can set them at myadcenter.google.com. We have no switch on this site that turns them off for you.
Cookies and browser storage
The sign-in system we use is built into every page, including every page that offers no way to sign in. It runs in your browser, sets a few cookies of its own and asks its own servers whether anybody is signed in. That means the company behind it sees the request your browser makes, including its address, on every page you open.
One other thing is kept in your own browser and never sent to us:
- the catalogue filter you have on — the name, rarity and finish you are narrowing by — for the length of the browser tab, so it follows you from a set up to its series and back.
Clearing your browser’s site data removes all of it.
Others who handle it
- Hosting (Vercel) — serves the site, keeps the server logs above, and counts visits and page-loading speed for us. That counting sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser: our host identifies a visit from the request itself and discards the means of doing so within a day, so there is nothing to ask you about and nothing you can be recognised by later.
- The sign-in system (Clerk) — its code runs on every page and calls its own servers from your browser, as described above.
- Advertising (Google) — its ad code runs on every page, as described above. It is the one thing here you cannot switch off from this site.
How long it is kept
Server logs roll off on our host’s own schedule.
