The master set counts each of its 65 cards once, in any card. It leaves out 46 First Edition, 46 Unlimited, 19 First Edition Holofoil and 19 Unlimited Holofoil.

Freeze Bolt, released in 2012, centres on Black Kyurem, freezing energy, and Pokémon associated with the harsher side of Unova. The set combines powerful Pokémon-EX with a broad supporting cast and several important Trainer cards.

MoreLess

Black Kyurem-EX and its full-art treatment are the main collector attractions, while secret rare cards add another premium layer. Its clean black-border full arts helped define how premium Pokémon cards would look for years afterward. It also provides a useful snapshot of the design, storytelling, and collecting priorities that shaped this period of the Japanese game. Beyond the best-known cards, smaller illustrations and evolution lines help complete the atmosphere of the release. That consistency gives the expansion a recognisable personality even when viewed apart from the competitive decks of its time. Freeze Bolt was combined with Cold Flare to create the English Boundaries Crossed expansion.
