The master set counts each of its 80 cards once, in any card. It leaves out 55 First Edition, 55 Unlimited, 25 First Edition Holofoil and 25 Unlimited Holofoil.

Gaia Volcano centres on Primal Groudon and the volcanic, land-shaping side of the conflict from Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Ancient Traits and powerful Fighting- and Fire-oriented cards reinforce the idea of an awakened force remaking the earth.

MoreLess

Primal Groudon-EX is the main collector and gameplay attraction, with Mega Aggron-EX and full-art cards adding further weight to the checklist. The mix of dramatic transformations and bright full-card artwork gives the set an unmistakable mid-2010s identity. That consistency gives the expansion a recognisable personality even when viewed apart from the competitive decks of its time. For set collectors, the supporting checklist matters almost as much as the headline pulls because it carries the theme from card to card. Gaia Volcano was combined with Tidal Storm to create the English Primal Clash expansion, which presents both primal powers together.
