Emerald Break takes the TCG into the air with Rayquaza, flying Pokémon, and a strong Dragon theme. Clouds, high-altitude battles, and ancient sky legends dominate the artwork, while Latios, Latias, Dragonite, and several bird Pokémon support the expansion’s sense of movement. The set also draws from the Delta Episode of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, connecting Rayquaza to Hoenn’s wider mythology. Mega Rayquaza-EX appears in two forms and provides the collector centrepiece, joined by Mega Latios-EX, Gallade-EX, and a large group of full-art cards.

MoreLess

Shaymin-EX became one of the most influential support Pokémon of its era, making the set exceptionally important in competitive play as well as collecting. Full-art Winona and other sky-themed Trainers reinforce the atmosphere. Emerald Break is remembered for combining a beloved legendary Pokémon with fast, powerful gameplay and an unusually coherent visual direction. Its Rayquaza cards remain the main attraction, but the expansion’s broader flying roster and competitive legacy give it significance far beyond a single chase card. The English *XY—Roaring Skies* closely follows this release but reorganises some cards, rarities, and numbering.
