The master set counts each of its 63 cards once, in any card. It leaves out 48 First Edition, 48 Unlimited, 15 First Edition Holofoil and 15 Unlimited Holofoil.

Collection X opens the Kalos era with Xerneas, Fairy-type Pokémon, and the first wave of Pokémon-EX and Mega Evolution cards tied to Pokémon X. Mega Venusaur-EX gives the release a familiar Kanto anchor beside the newly introduced sixth-generation species.

MoreLess

Xerneas-EX and Mega Venusaur-EX are the natural headline cards, supported by Kalos starters, Fairy Pokémon, and early full-art treatments. The mix of dramatic transformations and bright full-card artwork gives the set an unmistakable mid-2010s identity. That consistency gives the expansion a recognisable personality even when viewed apart from the competitive decks of its time. For set collectors, the supporting checklist matters almost as much as the headline pulls because it carries the theme from card to card. Collection X was combined with Collection Y to form the English XY expansion, so the international checklist mixes both Japanese releases.
