The master set counts each of its 82 cards once, in any card. It leaves out 55 First Edition, 55 Unlimited, 27 First Edition Holofoil and 27 Unlimited Holofoil.

Flight of Legends returns the TCG to Kanto, reintroducing the original Pokémon through artwork and mechanics inspired by the Game Boy Advance remakes. Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle once again anchor the set, while familiar locations and evolution lines give longtime collectors an immediate sense of recognition. The expansion blends nostalgia with the faster, more powerful design of the EX era. Charizard ex, Blastoise ex, and Venusaur ex are natural centrepieces, joined by cards such as Articuno ex, Moltres ex, Zapdos ex, and Mr. Mime ex.

MoreLess

Secret rare versions of the three legendary birds add another collecting challenge, and the set’s wide Kanto coverage makes it feel like a modernised successor to the original Expansion Pack. Rather than copying early artwork, it reinterprets the region with new illustrations and contemporary rules. Flight of Legends demonstrated how effectively the TCG could revisit its beginnings without relying entirely on reprints, establishing a pattern of Kanto-focused nostalgia that later expansions would continue. The English *EX FireRed & LeafGreen* closely follows this release but reorganises some cards, rarities, and numbering.
