Clash of the Blue Sky is built around the conflict between Deoxys and Rayquaza, echoing the space-themed story of the film Pokémon: Destiny Deoxys. Meteorites, laboratories, and dramatic skies appear throughout the artwork, while multiple forms of Deoxys emphasize its ability to change shape. Rayquaza provides the natural opposing force, giving the expansion a clear legendary rivalry. Deoxys ex appears in different forms, joined by Rayquaza ex and other Pokémon-ex such as Manectric ex and Salamence ex.
