Released in 2012, Dragon Selection is a compact Dragon-type showcase built around Dratini, Dragonair, Dragonite, Rayquaza, Salamence, Haxorus, and other species associated with dragons. Every Pokémon card receives a holographic treatment, giving the small checklist a deliberately premium presentation. Its special-release format supports a focused theme and a more compact collecting goal than a normal main expansion.

MoreLess

Rayquaza and the connected evolution lines provide the clearest collector appeal, while the narrow theme makes the set unusually approachable to complete. Its clean black-border full arts helped define how premium Pokémon cards would look for years afterward. The result reads coherently in a binder, with recurring subjects and visual ideas linking everyday cards to the rarer highlights. The English Dragon Vault closely follows the Japanese release, but its packaging, promotional additions, and numbering differ.
