Sword & Shield—Vivid Voltage combines bright electrical energy with a broad celebration of legendary and mythical Pokémon. Gigantamax Pikachu stands at the centre, joined by Zarude, Celebi, Jirachi, Rayquaza, and several Pokémon associated with Galar’s forests and ancient sites. The artwork is colourful and varied, giving the set a more adventurous and optimistic tone than the darker expansions before it. The English release brings together cards from Japan’s Legendary Heartbeat and Amazing Volt Tackle in a single checklist.

Pikachu VMAX is the main attraction, especially its rainbow rare version, often nicknamed the “Rainbow Chonkachu” for the character’s rounded Gigantamax form. The expansion also introduces Amazing Rare cards, which use vivid rainbow splashes behind legendary Pokémon such as Rayquaza, Jirachi, and Celebi. These cards provide distinctive pulls without occupying the highest rarity tier. Full-art Pokémon V, rainbow VMAX cards, and gold secrets add further depth, while several Trainers became useful in play. Vivid Voltage stands out for its accessible variety: Pikachu provides a universal headline, but the Amazing Rares and wide legendary roster give collectors several smaller, visually connected goals to pursue.
