Diamond & Pearl introduces the Sinnoh region and the fourth generation of Pokémon to the TCG. Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup begin new evolution lines, while Dialga and Palkia represent the region’s themes of time and space. The expansion also adopts a redesigned card frame and places more emphasis on the evolution stage within each card’s visual identity, giving the series a clear break from the EX era. The English release brings together cards from Japan’s Space-Time Creation: Diamond Collection and Space-Time Creation: Pearl Collection in a single checklist.

Its defining rarity is Pokémon LV.X. These cards level up an existing Active Pokémon, adding new attacks or abilities while retaining the earlier card’s moves. Dialga LV.X, Palkia LV.X, and the three fully evolved Sinnoh starters are natural highlights, while Lucario LV.X became another early favourite. The set also introduces several new evolutions for older Pokémon, reflecting one of Sinnoh’s central ideas. Diamond & Pearl is best understood as a fresh foundation: it presents a new region, a new card design, and a new form of high-powered Pokémon while preserving the evolution-based structure at the heart of the game.
