Released in 2022, VSTAR Universe closes the Japanese Sword & Shield era with a premium mixture of VSTAR reprints and an extensive Art Rare and Special Art Rare gallery. Legendary Pokémon, Trainers, and ordinary species appear in connected or highly cinematic scenes. The high-class format combines reprints with premium new artwork, creating a dense checklist designed as much for collectors as for players.

The four-card creation legend sequence, Mewtwo VSTAR facing Charizard, and many character-driven artworks are among the era’s strongest collector pieces. The release sits within a period when scenic storytelling became as important as raw rarity. The result reads coherently in a binder, with recurring subjects and visual ideas linking everyday cards to the rarer highlights. VSTAR Universe became the primary source for the English Crown Zenith expansion, although the English release reorganised and supplemented the checklist.
