The master set counts 49 Normal and 16 Holofoil. No card comes in more than one of them, so the master set is the same size as the full set.

Released in 1997, Rocket Gang shifts the spotlight to Team Rocket and its Dark Pokémon, presenting familiar evolutions as tougher, moodier creatures shaped by the villainous organisation. Dark Charizard, Dark Blastoise, and Dark Dragonite give the checklist a remarkably unified identity.

MoreLess

Dark Charizard is the best-known collector centrepiece, supported by cohesive laboratory, hideout, and Rocket-themed artwork. The artwork remains closely associated with the earliest identity of Pokémon collecting. For set collectors, the supporting checklist matters almost as much as the headline pulls because it carries the theme from card to card. The expansion therefore works well as a self-contained binder project as well as a chapter in the wider history of the game. The later English Team Rocket expansion added Dark Raichu as a secret rare, so the two checklists are closely related but not identical.
