XY—Furious Fists focuses on Fighting-type Pokémon, martial arts, and close-range power. Lucario leads the expansion alongside Hawlucha, Machamp, Heracross, and several Pokémon associated with physical strength or disciplined combat. Training grounds, arenas, and dynamic action poses give the artwork a competitive, energetic atmosphere. It was largely adapted from Japan’s Rising Fist, with modest changes to card selection and rarity distribution.

Lucario-EX and Mega Lucario-EX are the defining cards, supported by Fighting-specific Trainers and Energy that helped create a strong, connected strategy. Mega Heracross-EX provides a second Mega Evolution centrepiece, while Dragonite-EX and Seismitoad-EX broaden the set beyond its main type. Full-art versions of Lucario and several Supporters add collector appeal, and some cards became long-lasting competitive staples. Furious Fists stands out because its theme influences nearly every level of the expansion: the featured Pokémon, the visual style, and the gameplay support all reinforce the idea of a specialized Fighting deck. It offers a clear contrast to the Fire-heavy spectacle of Flashfire and remains one of the most mechanically cohesive sets of the XY series.
