Sword & Shield introduces the Galar region and the first partner Pokémon Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble. Zacian and Zamazenta represent the region’s heroic legends, while Pokémon such as Corviknight, Wooloo, and Galarian forms establish its distinctive industrial and countryside setting. The card design receives another modern update, with silver accents and expansive illustrations giving the new generation a clear visual identity. Its card pool combines Japan’s Sword and Shield into one larger English expansion.

MoreLess

Pokémon V debut as powerful Basic Pokémon that give up two Prize cards, while Pokémon VMAX evolve from them to represent Dynamax and Gigantamax forms and give up three Prizes. Lapras VMAX, Snorlax VMAX, and the legendary Pokémon V provide the main collector highlights, with full-art, rainbow, and gold versions extending the rarity range. Zacian V also became one of the most influential competitive cards of the era. Sword & Shield establishes the scale of the new series: battles are larger, featured Pokémon occupy more of the card, and the V and VMAX system becomes the foundation for the expansions that follow.
