Its Shiny Vault (94 cards) is part of this expansion, listed on its own. Together they are 163 cards and 219 unique printings in the master set.

Hidden Fates is a special expansion built around unusually coloured Pokémon and fan-favourite cards from the Sun & Moon era. The main checklist includes Mew, Mewtwo, the legendary birds, Charizard, and several familiar Kanto species, but the set’s real identity lies in the separately numbered Shiny Vault. That large subset presents shiny Pokémon from across multiple generations, ranging from small holographic cards to full-art Pokémon-GX. Its main Japanese source is GX Ultra Shiny, supplemented by cards from Sky Legend, deck products, and promotional releases.

Shiny Charizard-GX is the defining chase card, joined by shiny versions of Mewtwo-GX, the Eeveelutions, Rayquaza-GX, and many Ultra Beasts. Full-art Trainer cards depicting characters such as Cynthia add another sought-after group, while the stained-glass Moltres & Zapdos & Articuno-GX promotional card became closely associated with the release. Packs were available only in special products, increasing the set’s collector-focused feel. Hidden Fates offers frequent visual rewards and a long master-set challenge, turning the excitement of finding a shiny Pokémon in the video games into one of the TCG’s most popular modern collecting experiences.
