Black & White—Plasma Blast concludes the Team Plasma storyline with Genesect at the centre of the conflict. The expansion combines the faction’s mechanical support with Pokémon associated with technology, ancient power, and rapid acceleration. Genesect-EX and Virizion-EX form the defining pair, while Dialga-EX, Palkia-EX, and Jirachi-EX broaden the legendary roster. Its primary Japanese counterpart is Megalo Cannon, with some cards, rarities, and numbering reorganized for the English release.

MoreLess

The Genesect-EX and Virizion-EX combination became one of the era’s most recognizable competitive strategies, using Energy acceleration and flexible attacks to control the game. Full-art versions of both cards are major collector highlights, joined by Iris and other character cards. Secret rare alternate-coloured Pokémon such as Virizion and Dusknoir add further chase value. Although Team Plasma appears throughout the checklist, the set feels less like an invasion and more like the faction’s final, optimized arsenal. Plasma Blast is therefore both a narrative conclusion and a gameplay climax, bringing together the blue-framed cards and support systems developed in the previous two expansions. Its focused legendary pair and strong competitive legacy give it a clear place in Black & White history.
