Dragon Vault is a compact special expansion devoted entirely to Dragon-type Pokémon. Its twenty-card checklist includes Dratini, Dragonair, Dragonite, Rayquaza, Salamence, Haxorus, and several other species associated with dragons, allowing the new type introduced in Dragons Exalted to receive a focused showcase. Every Pokémon card is holographic, giving even common entries a premium appearance. It was largely adapted from Japan’s Dragon Selection, with modest changes to card selection and rarity distribution.

The set was distributed through special products rather than ordinary standalone booster boxes, with small packs designed to make completion achievable. Rayquaza is the central collector highlight, while connected evolution lines encourage arranging the cards as a miniature dragon collection. A small number of promotional cards related to the release extend the theme beyond the numbered checklist. Dragon Vault does not introduce a major new mechanic or large group of secret rares; its appeal comes from concentration and presentation. It is one of the earliest English mini-sets and helped establish the idea of a themed special expansion that could sit alongside the main series. For dragon fans, it remains a concise and visually consistent collection.
