The master set counts each of its 64 cards once, in any card. It leaves out 48 First Edition, 48 Unlimited, 16 First Edition Holofoil, 16 Unlimited Holofoil and 3 more in 3 other printings.

Jungle expands the original Pokémon world beyond the cities and laboratories of Base Set, placing its creatures in forests, grasslands, and other natural settings. The expansion introduced many popular Kanto Pokémon that had been absent from the first release, including Eevee and its evolutions, Snorlax, Scyther, Pinsir, and the Nidoqueen line. Its artwork gives the set a softer, more adventurous atmosphere, with Pokémon shown resting, hunting, and interacting with their surroundings. It adapts Japan’s Pokémon Jungle, adding non-holographic versions of all 16 rare cards for the English checklist.

MoreLess

A defining feature of Jungle is that every holographic rare also has a non-holographic version, giving collectors two forms of many headline cards. The holographic Eeveelutions—Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon—are among the best-known cards, while Snorlax and Scyther remain favourites. As the first expansion after Base Set, Jungle helped prove that the game could grow beyond its initial roster and established the familiar rhythm of new sets adding missing Pokémon, fresh artwork, and new collecting goals.
